Surgical Treatment
What is Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy?
Hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy are minimally invasive procedures that help diagnose and treat underlying fertility issues with accuracy and care.
Hysteroscopy allows doctors to view and treat the inside of the uterus using a thin, lighted device ideal for removing polyps, fibroids, or scar tissue.
Laparoscopy provides a detailed look at the reproductive organs through tiny abdominal incisions, helping identify conditions like endometriosis, cysts, or blocked tubes.
These day-care surgeries are safe, quick to recover from, and often key to improving fertility outcomes.

Who Should Consider This?
IT’S ABOUT SEEING THE WHOLE PICTURE
Laparoscopy: Diagnosing & Treating Hidden Fertility Challenges
Laparoscopy offers a clear, detailed view of the reproductive organs, helping diagnose and treat conditions that can silently affect fertility. At IVF Spring, we use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to ensure accuracy, comfort, and faster recovery.
- Endometriosis Treatment – Locate and remove tissue affecting egg quality and implantation
- Cyst Removal – Address ovarian cysts that may interfere with ovulation or treatment success
- Tubal Assessment & Repair – Detect and clear blockages in the fallopian tubes
- Adhesion Removal – Free reproductive organs from scar tissue for better function

IT’S ABOUT PRECISION INSIDE THE UTERUS
Hysteroscopy: Treating What’s Inside to Boost Fertility
Hysteroscopy allows our specialists to see and treat the inside of the uterus with pinpoint accuracy. Using a thin, lighted scope, we diagnose and correct conditions that may silently impact conception and pregnancy.
- Fibroid & Polyp Removal – Eliminate growths that interfere with embryo implantation
- Scar Tissue Removal (Adhesiolysis) – Restore normal uterine shape and function
- Septum Correction – Treat congenital uterine anomalies that affect fertility
- Lining Evaluation – Ensure the endometrium is healthy and receptive for implantation

Not Sure Where to Begin?
We'll Help you navigate
Step 1: Pre-Procedure Consultation
We begin with a thorough review of your medical history, symptoms, and previous fertility tests to determine if a surgical approach is the right step forward.
Step 2: Diagnostic Imaging & Lab Work
Basic blood tests and imaging (like ultrasound or MRI) may be done to plan your surgery precisely and rule out contraindications.
Step 3: Day of Surgery
You’ll arrive at the clinic a few hours before your procedure. Both hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are usually done under general anesthesia in a daycare setting.
Step 4: Minimally Invasive Procedure
Hysteroscopy involves inserting a thin camera through the cervix to examine and treat issues within the uterus. Laparoscopy uses a small abdominal incision and a camera to view the pelvic organs and perform necessary corrections.
Step 5: Recovery & Discharge
Most patients go home the same day. However, depending on the extent of the procedure, some may need to stay overnight or for 2–3 days. Mild cramping or bloating is common and usually resolves within a few days.
Step 6: Post-Operative Follow-Up
We schedule a follow-up consultation to review findings, healing, and the next steps in your fertility plan whether that’s natural conception or assisted treatment.

Can't find what you're looking for?
Is hysteroscopy or laparoscopy painful?
Both are minimally invasive and performed under anesthesia. Mild cramping or discomfort is normal post-procedure, but recovery is usually quick and manageable.
How long is the recovery time?
Most patients return home the same day and resume light activities within 2–3 days. Full recovery usually takes about a week, depending on the procedure.
Can I conceive naturally after surgery?
Yes many patients conceive naturally after surgical correction of fibroids, polyps, adhesions, or endometriosis. Your doctor will guide you based on your unique case.
What fertility issues can these surgeries treat?
Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy can address polyps, fibroids, blocked tubes, endometriosis, scar tissue (Asherman’s Syndrome), uterine septum, and other structural abnormalities.
Do I need surgery before starting IVF?
Not always. Surgery is suggested only if structural issues could impact IVF success. Your doctor will assess this during initial evaluations.
